      Col. James A. Copher is Vice Commander, 18th Air Force, Scott Air Force Base, Ilinois. As Air Mobility Command's sole numbered air force, 18th Air Force is responsible for providing forces to execute rapid, global mobility and sustainment for America’s armed forces through airlift, aerial refueling, aeromedical evacuation, and air mobility support. The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal is presented to veterans who are lineal blood descendants of Confederate military personnel and who served a minimum of 90 days in the U.S. Armed Forces with service of at least 30 days in U.S. Military Operations, U.S. Military Operations in Direct Support of United Nations, or U.S. Operations of Assistance.
